ACCESS STATEMENT FOR
WEOBLEY CROSS COTTAGE BED AND BREAKFAST
We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our home based, two bedroom bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
Pre-Arrival

The main train station is 4 miles away in Great Malvern from where you will be able to order a taxi. There is no bus service to our property. You can contact us by email through the web site or by telephone.
Arrival and Car Parking
On arrival at the property, there are double entrance gates. These will be opened for your arrival.
There are no marked parking bays but there is room to park all cars.
The surface is level, flat and gravelled, however, there is a paved footpath to the entrance – this slopes slightly.
We can assist guests with luggage.
Please note that we are quite isolated. The nearest village with amenities is three miles away.
Main Entrance and Reception/ Public Area – General (Internal)
The B&B entrance door has one step, 5cm high. We have a temporary ramp available if requested. (Please let us know in advance of arrival if you require this.)
You will be greeted on your arrival and provided with a key for entry during your stay.
The main entrance and the inner entrance doors are 78 cm wide. However, access to the hallway can be arranged through the wider conservatory and kitchen doors.
The main entrance measures 180cm wide by 106 cm long.
The inner hallway measures 168cm wide by 320cm long.
There is oak flooring throughout the entrance, hallway and conservatory.
Both bedrooms and the Conservatory (breakfast room) are situated on the ground floor and are accessed through the hallway and main entrance.
The entrance and hallway have good colour contrast and are well lit.
Public Areas – WC
Bedrooms are en-suite but no public WC is available.
Conservatory/Breakfast area
Breakfast is served in the Conservatory on the ground floor.
There are no steps.
Furniture can be moved on request.
The table has an underspace of 64 cm high by 70cm wide and a height of 75cm. It is oval in shape.
There are chairs, without arms, which can be moved to accommodate.
The menu can be provided in large print by prior arrangement or spoken.
We do not play background music in the area of the B&B.

Grounds and garden
We are happy for you to wander in the garden. Please note that it is a cottage garden with flower borders and lawns. There are narrow gravel paths, steps and slopes. There are a variety of benches.

Bedrooms
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor.
These are both accessed from the inner hallway.
Door widths (main and bathroom) are 73cm wide.
One room has twin beds and the other a double bed.
There are at least 60cm routes within the bedrooms, e.g to the side of beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The space between the single beds is only 40cm.
The furniture (except the wardrobes) can be moved on request.
The single beds are 60cm high and the double bed is 70cm high. All can be raised on blocks by prior request.
Televisions have remote control and teletext.
All the beds are divan.
There is one armchair in the twin room and one small, upholstered chair without arms in the double room.
There is an en suite shower room off each room. (see below for details)
Both rooms are fitted with short pile carpets.
There is good contrast in décor.
En suite Shower Rooms and WC
Both bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and WC.
The door widths have 71cm available space.
The door to the twin room en suite opens outwards and the door to the double room en suite opens inwards.
Both the shower cubicle edges are 20cm high
The free floor space in each room is limited – approximately 80cm turning space.
Both the basins are rounded at the front and stand on a pedestal 86cm high.
Both the toilets are 46cm high.
Additional Information
Assistance dogs are welcomed and we can provide food and water bowls on request
Mobile phone reception is generally good.
We are able to use all the external doors in the need of evacuation. We will ring a hand bell and shout continuously if evacuation is needed. If you require more assistance for evacuating, please notify us on arrival and we will ensure you are evacuated safely. E.g. hearing impairment.
We are happy to take delivery of hired equipment – please give us prior notice.
We are a completely no-smoking establishment.
If you need to refridgerate small items of food or medication, we can accommodate in our main fridge on request. (Not available 24 hours)

Future Plans
We are redesigning our gated driveway arrangement in order to provide improved car parking and accessibility. (Spring 2008)
